Is the grass greener?

They say the grass always seems greener on the other side. But not to me, not now. The grass seems greener here, I am thankful for all that surrounds me.

Is this was contentment is? To see the blessings all around you, and to know that although there may be places, at times, you’d rather be, that where you are is really quite wonderful too?

There are people I love incredibly, and miss dearly, who live thousands of miles away, sprinkled across the world. There are places that have captured my heart which aren’t here. There are cultures that excite me and challenge me, that are so far removed from this one. There are other people I long to fellowship with, other places I’d rather be, but despite that I love being right here right now.

I love my surroundings, I love my friends who surround me, I love my church, I love my lifestyle. Sure there are things in each of those categories which could be improved, but I love them all the same. I am happy here, and I see the abundant blessings in my life. I know things will change, but I have no idea when, and I’m good with that. To be here, now, is good.

And so you may think the grass is greener on the other side, but I say the grass is greener here.
